How to change your name at the Washington DOL, step by step
- Find your nearest DOL at this link: bit.ly/wadol Select "Appointments and locations" link in the top right Select "Make an appointment at a driver licensing office” Select your category & service: In the "Select Category" section, select "Driver's license, ID card, or driving permit" In the "Select Service" section, select "Get an enhanced license or ID"
- Gather the documents listed below.
- Visit your local DOL with your required documents and pay the license fee
What to bring
- Current driver's license
- U.S. passport or birth certificate
- Your new Social Security card
- Certified copy of your marriage certificate (or divorce decree)
- Proof of Washington residency (two documents showing your name + address)
